About LYNMOUTH... Lynmouth was once known as Little Switzerland - and it's not difficult to see why. Enclosed by steep and dramatic cliffs, Lynmouth is typified by its whitewashed cottages and a distinctive tower on the quay. Whatever else you do, you have to visit The Valley Of The Rocks, a Site of Special Scientific Interest only a short distance from the village. It is also of special interest to the wild goats who leap about among the boulders, perfectly at ease with tourists. If you're not feeling quite as agile as a goat, use the local Cliff Railway instead and let the train take the strain.
