About CREDITON... Crediton is known around the world as the birthplace of St Boniface, the outstanding Christian activist who was martyred in Germany more than a millennium ago. The place was already sacred to the Saxons, and was actually Devon's cathedral city until Exeter took over the role. A stained-glass window commemorating the life of St Boniface survives in the red stone Holy Cross church. There are plenty of places to eat in Crediton, plus an indoor market if you're cooking for yourself, as well as a lot of independent shops for everything else you need.

We offer an extensive menu, plus specials on our chalk boards. On entering the pub , to the right is a lounge bar with beams and a log fire, which leads on to our no-smoking dining room. To the left is a separate bar with a darts board and a pool table. A good selection of real ales are available (usually local) and a varied choice of wines from around the world. In addition there is a patio, children's play area and a large beer garden with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Combe Lancey B&B - Location: Crediton, Devon. This medieval manor granted by the Crown to the de Launcelles family in the 13th Century lies in its own sheltered and secluded valley on the outskirts of the old Market Town of Crediton. The beamed accommodation is within the old cob and timbered Linhay which forms part of the Grade II Listed 15th Century thatched Manor House. It offers south-facing views of the valley over the formal gardens and, together with the en-suite Bathroom and separate Breakfast Room, provides complete privacy in comfortable surroundings.
